Mindfulness-Based BIPOC MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS GROUP
August 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Each 90-min group will provide an opportunity to:
• Expand self-awareness.
• Deepen neuroception & introspection through reflection.
• Recognize and name emotions related to experiences to enhance emotional intelligence.
• Identify & effectively express personal and professional needs.
• Reclaim language as a source of power and resilience.
• Locate and release somatic tension through communal storytelling.
• Explore creative self-expression through journaling.
• Practice methods of breathing through tension & discomfort as a form of self-healing.
• Learn additional techniques to safely tolerate distress.
• Engage in conscious movement with joy, pride, pain, stress, uncertainty, grief, disappointment, and other emotional experiences.
• Increase cultural competence through exposure to various cultural experiences.
• Celebrate & appreciate diverse cultures.
• Actively and reflectively listen to others with empathy & compassion.
• Cultivate deep personal and professional connections.
• Strengthen individual capacity to overcome challenges.
• Courageously advocate for change in our world, as needed.
